SBLA is a design practice, focusing on landscape architecture, urban design, furniture and object design.
We see the composition of landscape as bridging science, art, building and ecology.
SBLA director Simone Bliss has worked within the design industry for fourteen years. Her experience includes twelve years at Taylor Cullity Lethlean and a year with Playstreet studio before starting SBLA.
She has had experience designing and documenting a number of internationally award winning projects such as the Auckland Waterfront redevelopment and the National Arboretum Canberra. Both winners of the landscape of the year world architecture festival award.
Simone has taken this experience and through SBLA is testing an alternative model of practice. Peers and collaborators with experience in fields such as horticulture, illustration and product design are engaged based on a projects specific needs.
Simone teaches for the University of Melbourne’s Masters of Landscape Architecture and Bachelor of Horticulture at Burnley Campus.
